This Red Mage was made in Sketch Book Pro for the iPad.
I started with light sketches then added colours and a phat ink line over the top using the layers system. Even managed to upload and post on MTMT from the iPad using Blogpress.

Loving the iPad, it's a powerful tool and a great product.

I was told about some cult game called 'street wars,' or something like that. Players become hit men and have to assassinate others who are registered with a water gun. Carrying a water pistol on me at all times and assassinating people before they realize sounds fun.

Instead of joining though I just decided to draw stuff. So this is suppose to be some cover art for a team of assassins. Will have it finished soon.

Well the previous speed scribble certainly did conjure up some motivation. Converted it to the canvas.

This was done really fast. Didn't really know what I was doing either.... That being said, I had lots of fun and love the outcome! Allowed me to really loosen up and just let it happen.

I'd completely forgot that it was recently MTMT's 1st anniversary/birthday or whatever you wanna call it. I'd been meaning to update and tweak a few things anyway, but this gave me more reason to do so.

And Thirdly... An image on side bar to act as a shortcut link to my favourite sections of the blog... Only one for now. “Caricature” I'll be changing the image soon though... I don't like it.

Now that I'll be remodelling everything for animation I'm gonna have to reassess shape and stance an all that. So I'm gonna re-sketch the characters, ready for serious construction. This one was drawn, scanned and coloured in... Like 10 mins? Max? Yeah...

Think I might be able to get away with importing characters made in Illustrator!

I know what you're thinking... Thats some god awful animation right there.

BUT!

These are only tests to get my self to grips with Anime Studio. It seems the software is alot more friendly if you draw your characters straight into the program rather than importing them. It helps with making 'Actions' which will speed up the animating process tenfold.

As you see here this imported Toby has some crazy legs. But it was the best image to import for the quick job I had in mind.

I've pretty much got my head round Anime Studio and it's so simple to use. Next post will prolly consist of a better animation and it looks like I'm gonna have to draw my characters into the program afterall. Boooo...
